Since I was a young boy, I have always loved to teach dogs.  I started training sled dogs when I was nine years old.  When I was twelve, I trained my first Collie, Duke, to pull me on my paper route.  During this time, I was also working with my father training Labradors, throwing birds and training dogs to be steady to wing and shot.  I trained and titled my first Field Champion Labrador when I was 23 years old.

Some of my accomplishments include:

• 2002 USA North Central Regional Championship with Diego v. Hoogen Gorden
• 2001 WDA Universal Siegerin with Orna von der Burgmühle
• 1998 Co-Captain and Alternate on the WDA team for the WUSV World Championship in Boston
• 1997 FH Champion with Amigo v. Brinkeweg.  Amigo was many times 100 points in tracking in National Events
• I have been on four World Teams representing the United States with my dog, Amigo
• I am Founder and Training Director for Hauptstadt Schutzhund Verein
• I have experience in training for Police K-9 work and have trained several street dogs in weapon work, body bites, muzzle work and multiple attacks
• In 1987 I was picked to do the front half at the North American Championships
• I have done several teaching seminars on all three phases in the Sport of Schutzhund
• I have a comprehensive breeding program with some of the best bloodlines, to bring stronger nerves to the Conformation Lines and better conformation to the Working Lines
• I have been to Germany several times to work with trainers and judges.  I attended World Championship Shows and visited some of Germany's best Working and Show Kennels
• I train at a National level and will train others at the level at which they are comfortable, whether it be club, regional or national

Tom Trainor

My interest in dog training and breeding began in 1967 while serving in an infantry unit in Vietnam . I was able to observe the scout dogs in action and was totally overwhelmed by their abilities in combat. I returned home in 1968. I then heard about this school for animal behavior and dog training that was located in Albuquerque, New Mexico .  While there I studied behavior modification techniques in scent detection and discrimination and all levels of aggression behavior. I also studied genetics and breeding.

Upon graduation I opened a kennel and started competing in Police Dog Trials. In 1972 I was introduced to Schutzhund. I then became a breeder and importer of Doberman Pinschers and German Shepherds. I bought a Schutzhund III German Shepherd from Germany in 1979 and thus began my passion for high level competition. With my dog Zins vom Bungalow, I placed 2nd in the 1981 Nationals and went on to win the 1983 FH Championship and the 1983 Schutzhund III Tournament. I was also a WUSV World Competitor in 1998 with my dog, Bond v. Reddighauser Land . And most recently, Gypsyna v. h. Koder and I competed for and won the WDA Regional Schutzhund III Championship and Universal Siegerin 1999 for vom Ausland Kennels.  I also won the 2000 Mid-East Regional Championship (High SchH3), the 2003 Mid-East Regional Championship (High Protection), and was a 2004 AWDF World Team Member (ALT).

My 30 years experience in the dog business has given me what is needed to be successful at importing dogs from the best kennels in Germany and placing them in police departments and other working environments. We also import dogs that are trained and certified in Germany for narcotics and street service. I strive to breed dogs with courage, hardness, and trainability from the best working lines in Europe for police, bodyguard and Schutzhund work.
